The year has slowly moved from hot summer days towards autumn. Evenings are already accompanied by storms announcing the coming harvest time. The Higher Will moves unstoppably through the cycle of life, which, at the height of its growth, tickles the heavens like the finest tips of tea leaves before embarking on its journey into darkness.

The Will became the guide of the Water, the third part of the magical pyramid. We already started to lightly deal with the Will in the previous issue of Femme Occulte. It manifests through our chapters in its many forms. It will, we hope, support the reader's development in Knowledge through a detailed list of correspondences, ignite their Courage with a spark of inspiration, and prove itself practical in rituals charged with the energy of the Cone of Power.

Riding the wave of the basic seasonal element, we will open several new topics and chapters. One of them will be tea. It is not originally Western in character and its inclusion in the magical processes taking place in the Bohemian basin might seem somewhat exotic, but it has become an important part of socializing of local witchcraft groups. It can be considered an important aspect of the occult atmosphere. In our experience, few witches from the heart of Europe would disdain an invitation to a tea room to chat about all things magical and read their cards - say Lenormand - over a cup of delicious drink.

The meditative and other effects of tea, hinted at in one of our past herbalism chapters, will be developed in several chapters from two plants of our garden. Both authors will offer their insight into the elemental attribution of different types of tea, but these should be seen as personal gnosis in both cases, reflecting their different approaches and sensitivities to each tea.

In our texts you will find it primarily as one of the paths of ancient magic, in an article which was prepared for us by our new seedling. Welcome to the new year with Femme Occulte, which opens with an airy theme. This year's magazines will be marked by the magic of senses, the first guide to the pages of the spring issue being hearing. Not surprisingly, in creating the chapters, we have focused on the magic of music, the rhythmic use of beads, or the plants of the Air that rustle their crowns under the sky, heal the voice, or rattle in the beanstalk.

Besides opening the door to new themes for 2022, our Garden has also opened its doors to the fresh scents of plants - seedlings who will share their magical practice with us. As the Czech land is where the cultures of many tribes and peoples have met in the past, this year, we will look at Germanic and Celtic magic alongside our stalwart Slavic magic.

But that is not all! With the advent of the tea chapters in the previous year, we have already slowly foreseen a path from the Western esoteric tradition represented by Hermeticism, over the Middle East of Kabbalistic teachings, to the Eastern esoteric tradition, which this year will be represented by chapters on the I-Ching, the Book of Changes that fascinated greats such as psychologist and archetype researcher Carl Gustav Jung.

The theme of the first issue focused on its first side - Knowledge. Which of the sides would belong to the second issue, however, meant a difficult decision between Courage and Will. In the end, based on the research of many correspondence systems, we chose Courage as a side more related and in warm harmony with last year's summer theme of Fire. Nevertheless - just as Fire and Water intertwined in previous issues and flames of the fire caressed the water surface - Courage and Will will blend slightly this year as well, therefore you can read about Will in several chapters already in this issue.

And since everything is connected and the partial principles always reach towards unity, we will shine a light on alchemy not only in one of its phases on the journey to the Philosopher's Stone, but also in its entirety through the symbolism that can be found in an article about magical Prague. As the capital of the Czech Republic, it points to the Czech national tree, Linden. We deliberately chose the tree of the season so that the products from it support health at the turn of spring and summer, when the weather is still changing wildly and the immunity of many of us needs to be boosted and our moods desire a fresh spark.

If you do not have the opportunity to look at the alchemical summer house in Prague during the time of Pre-summer and Summer, you can try to visit it in one of your dreams or via astral travelling. These are the techniques we talk about in our chapters. We will also travel between the pages and from the Czech basin we will look into many other cultures: we will present Germanic runes, Nordic and Slavic dolls, we will light a coal under the Egyptian Kyphi, warm ourselves in ancient Greece and Jewish mysticism will carry us to the light of the sky. Finally, of course, we will look at the stars and focus on the characteristics and attunement of the planet Uranus.

The second year with Femme Occulte is slowly coming to its end, and before all this year's chapters are huddled together over a cup of tea in the book edition of Liber Magicae II (scheduled for spring 2022), this issue will warm you up on quiet winter evenings. To reach the peak and goal of the magical pyramid, all that remains in the ritual is to pass through its last side - the side of Silence, which may seem as dark and distant as the universe beyond the gates of Pluto. But as we read in the astrological chapters, darkness is often the space for new birth or rebirth.

Silence, darkness, and birth are attributes of the winter element of the Earth, which we learn more about through its creatures and plants. A time of contemplation will be supported by the creation of purpura, tasty recipes, suggestions for walking through Prague (or any other city) and exploring the astrological context of a place, or a guide to geomantic divination.

Rituals, techniques, and traditions of the Old Path and the gate-keys are again included. In Kabbalah, we look around the four worlds of the Sephirothic tree and we will also learn a lot about correspondences, theurgy, and Czech hermeticism.
