ULVER
"Shadows Of The Sun" CD
(te089) The End
Soothing electronics and natural percussion provide the basis
for Garm's warm vocals, singing songs of loss and disillusion. While
the lyrics provide little hope, the music carries a note of quiet
faith. It sees Ulver abandon many of their grand concepts, to focus
on music and human emotion. Contributions by world-renowned thereminist
Pamelia Kurstin help make SHADOWS OF THE SUN a piece of rare beauty.

ULVER
"Lyckantropen Themes" CD
(te031) The End
The original Ulver soundtrack for the Swedish short film Lyckantropen,
produced and directed by Steve Ericsson. The ten themes are improvisations
over three chords produced on mobile Ulver equipment. The final results
are an exciting blend and experimental soundscapes, dark undertones
and haunting passages.

THRALL "Arabian Knightmares" CD
(Tesco 065) Tesco Organisation
Comes in a special well designed cardboard box
folder with 8 postcards. Arabian Knightmares is one man's effort to
reflect the unfolding events of the current worldwide sectarian war
in a series of harmonic constructs, utilizing actual sounds from the
major events of the struggle (9/11, the Iraq War, etc.) to provide
a historic point of reference. The forlorn yet beautiful emotions
that are unmistakable in Muslim song and prayer are reflecteded here
in a context so unique that it is deeply stirring in a musical sense
and simultaneoously brutal with its emotional impact on the listener.
Tears are not uncommon.
