"En-Trance" CD
(acd008) Autarkeia
Ritual pulsing, archaic sound of wind instruments, deep-dark ambient
and surrealistic, unexpected music bends immersing the audience to
the swirl of phantasmagoric moods. Emotions generated by the "En-tranc"
could be compared with the psychedelic atmosphere of the first albums
of NWW, Hybryds. Interesting record of mystic ritual music. Packed
in a nontypical black plastic DVD case. Limited edition 500 copies.

SCRAP.EDX
"Recoil The Void" CD
(hands0091) Hands
This project brings a varied cocktail of industrial influences. The
opening tracks are showing a mix of harsh industrial sounds merged
with brute techno ideas. The ?Machine death? and ?I am the spectrum
smasher? are both excellent hybrids of industrial and techno music.
Reaching the ?Show me the meaning of haste?-cut we get back to a more
traditional distorted industrial form in the purest sense of the meaning.
The next cut entitled ?Cut, conceive, crawl? is already something
different where S.E tries to elaborate and confine their sound injecting
some more electronic arrangements to the composition. It however ends
in a hard beating industrial assault with ?Rotting utopic fruit? while
we also get a pure noise-minded hidden cut. This is a quite open-minded
and fascinating industrial production! (side-line)

"Forever" CD
(cd200506) Silentes
On the wing of a new chapter in Amir Baghiri and Stefano Gentile's
musical career the SEAMUS carries us to their latest sounds-statement
to the mystical side of our industrial world. In the musical labyrinth
of the SEAMUS project, the fractal grooves continually changing themselves
from each sound colour into another one ...and all that with Amir`s
excellent balance between the dynamic elements and morphing atmospheres,
between emotional energies and spiritual experiences. Refined and
elegant electronic music, discreet rhythmical and pleasant movements,
blended to cosmic-ambiental suspended sonic landascapes, bass lines,
sequencers parts, voices, radio meddles, ambient distant noises, whispers,
soft melodic elements... A moving and variegated sonic trip around
a limitless electronic universe.

"Great Desired Utopia" CD
(Rage58) Rage In Eden
The debut album of Polish act called Sect. Musically is a fusion of
oppressive mechanical industrial with military rhythms, but also with
participation of calm ambient accents. The essence of this work is
confrontation of lofty ideas in the name of human's development with
unrestrained lust for power and domination. The attempt of answer
what factors form the development of civilisations and what
factors make them falling. 15 tracks, 49 minutes of hypnotic, absorbing
music. CD in digipack. Artwork made by Michal Karcz.

SEELENLICHT
"Gods and Devils" CD
(sel067) Eibon
This stunning debut release from Troy Southgate (H.E.R.R. / Horologium)
and Butow Maler (Kammer Sieben) contains 14 darkly satirical compositions
that strip bare the mechanism of human nature and the madness of the
contemporary world. There are bittersweet excursions into social conformity,
mass apathy and mindless consumerism, as well as Gothic murder ballads,
an ode to nature in the raw and a devastatingly powerful tribute to
Hermann Hesse's landmark novel, Demian. Comprised of electronic, folk
and neoclassical elements, this album is brimming with originality,
enthusiasm and creativity. Features guest appearences from Herr Twiggs
(Kammer Sieben), Maria Southgate (H.E.R.R.) and Eustacia Vye (Horologium).

S.E.T.I.
"Corona" CD
(pas24) Power and Steel
Fifth album from Andrew Lagowski's deep space exploration project,
S.E.T.I. Active since 1982, Lagowski has notably collaborated with
Lustmord on one-off projects such as Terror Against Terror and Isolrubin
BK, and his own solo work includes material released as Legion and
under his own name. Of all his albums as S.E.T.I., 1994's "Knowledge"
has always been a personal top pick, and remains even today among
the best sonic attempts at evoking the vastness of the cosmos (and
for $4 at Soleilmoon, there is really no reason why you shouldn't
pick up a copy right now). "Corona" is the rightful follow-up
to it, as it reuses and improves on a lot of the same elements: deep
cosmic drones, sputtering digital oscillations, NASA recordings, cut-up
radio broadcasts and harmonic waves are all forged together into a
richly-detailed 52-min journey to the beyond. Ad Astra!

SKADI
"Eliwagar" CD
(ART 41) Art Konkret
After his online debut-album “Vergangenheit und Gegenwart”
wich received very good reviews - released at www.lichttaufe.de -
follows his first official CD release on ART-KONKRET. The Goddess
of hunting and of the winter in the germanic mythology is Skadi. So
the CD starts with cold and mystical soundscapes, followed by rituell
percussive elements. Skadi creates a dark athmosphere with chants,
dark dronings, strings, natural sounds but also with percussions and
bells. Because of this SKADI is an interesting mixture of various
dark ambient soundscapes. The project is attractive in its diversified
parts. Similarities to projects like Sephiroth respectively Ulf Söderberg,
Triarii or Vinterriket can be noticed, without being another copy
of them. Opposingly to many monotonous dark ambient projects - which
only well disposed listener will be able to differ one track from
another, SKADI appears as a catchy project by its rhythmic and melodical
elements with Tune Wedgie character. Eliwagar is the soundtrack for
the forthcoming cold wintertimes.

SKINCAGE
"Things Fall Apart" CD
(S28) Spectre
It took Jon Ray six years to create his second
CD. In twelve tracks you are given a tour through the mind of Skincage,
a tour among things that did, will or could fall apart. ‘Bhopal’
and ‘Chernobyl’ already reached an impressive level of
destruction, while ‘Hungry Ghosts’ are still unaware of
their new existance. ‘Things Fall Apart’ is mainly created
with broken or somehow manipulated selfmade instruments, as broken
or manipulated as the thoughts that formed the soil in which they
grew. The story which is told on the darkest lovesong ever - entitled
‘Calling Home’ - is the ultimate proof that ‘Things
Fall Apart’ is an album made in difficult times. It has a reason
that the creator of this advises solitude and headphones to fully
“enjoy” the tracks.

SLEEP

(csr72cd) Cold Spring
Ultra deep, glacial Dark Ambient, based around
Antarctic co-ordinates. The polar regions are awe-inspiring environments
of inhospitable minimalism, and at the same time there's a beautiful
serenity to be found in their uncharted bleakness. There's a powerful
purity and a timelessness to be found there; snow which has lain un-trampled
for millennia and ice which formed eons ago; mountain ranges and deserts
and rivers to be found if you look. 'Deep Frieze' is SRF's second
album for Cold Spring and here deep, resonant, abyss-like drones shine
forth from icy chasms below. Jewelcase with foldout map booklet.

SLEEP
RESEARCH FACILITY "Dead Weather Machine" CD
(mancd042) Manifold Records
Dark exquisite ambient, simply perfect The titanic
waves of impenetrable sonics slowly swing from out of the far-away
darkness like the tentacles of some galaxy-sized beast, moving through
clouds with the power of a silk-covered sledgehammer, thudding at
the other side of the world. Several tracks of slightly differing
technique are just chilling, huge and deep...scary deep. Like the
electrically-charged shade of Lustmord's 'Place Where The Black Stars
Hang'. Monstrous. Somehow threatening. The previous SRF record, 'Nostromo'
(CSR34CD) used the first few seconds of the film 'Alien' to create
an expansive, chilling work of ambient. Here, the artist was living
in a small flat in the UK with a heating/ac unit that was slowly breaking
down, clogged with dust, slowly choking on it's own decay. Dead Weather
Machine tells monstrous tales of things and places and feelings that
it's common beginnings would never seem to suggest. But then imagine
being as small as a piece of dust, trekking through some enormous,
dying mechanical landscape, the sounds of world-sized storms swirling
all around you. A microscopic entity, floating for ages through the
channels and chambers of an enormous, dying machine, a machine that
makes the weather for an entire world. A machine that is slowly dying.

SLEEP
RESEARCH FACILITY "Dead Weather Machine - Re:Heat" CD
(mancd043) Manifold Records
There's a good story behind this disc. Why a
simultaneous release of two SRF discs so closely related? Originally
conceptualised as a 100 copy only disc to go with a special limited
edition of Dead Weather Machine, Manifold commissioned Sleep Research
Facility to create a single hour-long track of total dark-ambient
drift based on the original material. To put it plainly; when we got
this master, we were blown away and realized this was too good to
let slip into obscurity. It would be a shame to keep this from being
available to all people who seek out the best in dark-ambient and
drift. Engaging, emotional and worthy of listening to ten years down
the road. This is roughly an hour of slowly changing, deep, meditative
drift based on the Dead Weather Machine source materials, in a slim,
lightweight package. Think of it as a companion disc. So here you
are, an option that you really shouldn't pass up. It is unimaginable
that anyone that likes dark ambient to not like this one.

songs are a fine selection from their early albums (each album has
sold 3000 to 5000 copies in the 90ies!) + one unreleased track. after
they split in 2001, two ex-Soulsearch members joined again in 2005

As long time admirers of this Texas two piece,
it seemed only a matter of time before Steel Hook Prostheses would
find a home with Malignant. While Atrocitizer will probably not be
considered their most aggressive release, it is unquestionably their
most unsettling and creepy. 10 tracks in total and close to 50 minutes
of death industrial in it’s purest form, dripping and oozing
with sinister intentions, and full of grim electronics, unnerving
pulsations, and cold frequency spasms that swarm from a fetid pit
of malevolence. Add in a steady stream of ultra menacing , processed
vocals and nightmarish samples, and surely you have one of the more
disturbing releases ever to be released on Malignant. Steel Hook Prostheses

Divine. As Subinteror he works with field recordings, mostly of a
nocturnal kind (safety doors, lapping wheels, industrial refrigeration

through the use of software. The six resulting pieces are all quite
alright within the realms of dark ambient with industrial touches.
The metallic rumbling of someone trying to break down the fence around

"Balkan Renaissance" CD
(Ahnstern24)
Ahnstern
The Bulgarian Black Folklore ensemble Svarrogh of Dimo Dimov has recorded
another masterpiece of Ritual Folk music. "Balkan Renaissance"
is already the 4th Svarrogh album under the banner of the god of the
sun. This mystic sound-journey drags you along to the ancient heart
of the Balkan mountains, its caves, rivers, villages and people with
their deep mythological roots. Svarrogh's sound is absolutely unique,
not only because of the beautiful mandoline-playing and the bagpipes,
mixed with droning synths, which envocate the return of the sun. Svarrogh
creates a musical look through a grey window to discover the dark
past of Bulgaria´s 19th century and its Renaissance, after years
of osman opression. This album is full of traditional-, pagan- and
ritual Folk music, Neo-Classical songs, Martial drummings and it has
even some Industrial moments. - 18 tracks / 73 min.

"The Silver Hour" CD

behind acclaimed artwork for artists such as Mayhem, Darkthrone, Manes,

Culto’s The Misanthrope DVD and Ulver, paired with the very
unorthodox bass player Petter Berntsen (Virus, Audiopain). Together
they brush off the conventions of genre and subculture looking for
pre-sound and pre-silence, painting a truly visual sound landscape,
putting dreams and fears into a musical body. The title refers to
the twilight, the time of in-between. The recordings for "The
Silver Hour" were made visiting remote and abandoned places where
nature has reclaimed what once was human and trivial and made it obsolete.
