in 2003 Maurizio Bianchi and Matteo Uggeri/Hue
meet through Afe records; three years after Maurizio asked Hue for
a musical collaboration, that grew up quickly until the design of
a long term project called Between the Elements. The Nefelodhis album
was then recorded in a few days in a totally improvised session where
Sparkle in Grey, the ensemble of Alberto Carozzi (guitar, bass), Cristiano
Lupo (piano, guitar, drums), Franz Krostopovic (violin) and Hue (laptop),
played melancolic melodies on the mysterious analogic and a-rhytmical
soundscapes provided by MB. The results of these sessions, recorded
into the factory where Sparkle in Grey are used to have their rehearsal,
was assembled and mixed by Hue himself.
The album is a desperate but dreamy picture in sounds of the concept
of clouds (in greek 'Nefelodhis' means 'cloudiness') and, after the
careful mastering of Giuseppe Ielasi, sounds like a trip through the
wet lands made of vapour. This is the sister album of Erimos, by MB,
Hue and Fhievel, and it's part of the Between the Elements quadrilogy.

The Italian duo Medusa’s Spell is back
with their second album after the “Mercurial Behaviour”
released on Cold Meat in 2006. “Last X hours”is also a
conceptual album, this time following the ten last tragic hours of
a woman who stands accused for witchery. Ten songs, each representing
one hour of her last ten in life, from the moments of the trial, -
when her body is completely exhausted from pain - until her mind resigned
to her fate of death. The lyrics of the first and the last song is
a curse! - the true words spoken by a woman falsely accused of witchery
and condemned to death in 1428. The witch of Medusa’s Spell
is however a symbolic woman representing all women condemned as witches.
By infernal torments and torture her mind and tongue slowly converts
to the Devil…and her voice becomes finally the voice of the
Devil. Medusa’s Spell has again created a genuine accoustic
ritual dark-folk concept.

The name of Moljebka Pulse is probably by now a settled one, with
previous releases on Eibon, Cold Meat Industry and Segerhuva. On his
'The Leaves Of Their Songs', Moljebka Pulse returns to his older style
of deep electronic ambient drone works. Apperentely guitars and electronics
lie at the basis of this music and things are heavily processed into
these long, stretched and pitch black atmospheric tunes. In 'Chorei'
there is a rhythm to be detected, but in general these are kept to
a minimum. Sometimes the music is a bit gritty and raw but that certainly
is quite nice. Only six pieces to be found here, but lenghty as hell,
with 'Anzan' even almost twenty-eight minutes. If you the rawness
of Troum, then I'm sure Moljekba Pulse is something that would go
down well too.

MS Gentur released a few tracks for compilations, but didn't release
any new album. We here can speak about a resurrection, but not a complete
one! The tracks from "End Chapter" are unrelease-, deleted
and compilation tracks. And so there's nothing really new here, but
just an interesting collection of fragments released all over the
years. The main sources of inspiration from this German solo-project
are moving in between industrial and some softer realms of noise.
A link with a band like Sonar makes sense and appears to the surface
on a track like "Metaluna". But MS Gentur sounds more diversified
than Sonar and also moves on the edge of industrial techno.
