Janitor release on Tesco. This is Janitor's 3rd full-length release,
after “Receiving a Flower on Mothers' Day.” The two masterminds
Peter Andersson (LinaBaby Doll/ Deutsch Nepal) and Benny Nilsen (Hazard)
got together again and managed to produce a very good follow-up to
their highly acclaimed first release on Tesco. Again Janitor delivers
an outstanding mix of rhythms, industrial elektronikk soundscapes,
romantic tunes with the distinct voice of Lina, a sentimental journey
into the world of weirdness. After years of contemplation and research
in the monastery caves of Qoumran, Nilsen and Baby Doll found the
hidden treasures they were looking for. The dry wind as a tapestry
of sand in an elektronikk desert, structures and ornaments hidden
in the storm of Saudi. Another surprising release from the swedish

PEARCE "Bleed" CD

Many ambient musicians strive to attain an affect
of pure atmosphere and tone color, and in that sense many avoid personalizing
their music. Jeff Pearce has taken a different approach this time,
and openly admits that the material on BLEED, inspired by recently-revisited
entries to his teen-age journal, is an emotional journey, representing
at once a remembrance, an exploration, and a catharsis. Many of those
who have heard BLEED describe it as melancholy or even sad. As with
previous Pearce recordings, all sounds are made by electric guitar.
The sound, too, has evolved from previous Pearce works. The tone has
a rich and mature quality, reminding one of the cello recordings of
David Darling even as the playing, here, is more recognizably guitar-like
than is usual for Pearce.

2000 album TO THE SHORES OF HEAVEN, THE LIGHT BEYOND shares its predecessor's
basis of smooth, guitar-based atmospheric clouds, both dark and light.
But THE LIGHT BEYOND explores more abstract, open- ended and free-form
compositions, with one track almost forty-four minutes in duration,
in the midst of three shorter pieces. This may be Pearce's most developed
and sonically complex work yet, a fact that is truly amazing considering
that THE LIGHT BEYOND was entirely improvised in the "Star's
End" studios of WXPN radio in Philadelphia. One man with a guitar
and some electronic processing boxes has created, in real time and
for the benefit of a live listening audience, work of a substance
and depth, not to mention sonic richness, that ranks with his finest
studio-recorded works. Listeners who loved Pearce's previous work
-- in addition to TO THE SHORES OF HEAVEN there were DAYLIGHT SLOWLY,
