FALSE
MIRROR "North" CD
(tr04)
Thonar
Records
North is the second full-length album from False Mirror. Many of the
techniques, methods and effects I developed during the production
of 'Chronostatic Scenes' were applied. Whereas 'Chronostatic Scenes'
dealt with a dreamscape athmosphere, 'North' is much colder and darker.
He was always impressed by arctic surroundings and the early expeditions
to the poles. This is the mood of the album, like an arctic expedition
somewhere into nowhere.
Many of the sounds come from recordings of acoustic instruments like
guitars, accordion, gongs, mouth organ which were extremely effected
and processed. There are also environmental recordings he made from
the North Atlantic Ocean and during the European windstorm 'Kyrill'.
The cover again was painted by Sylvia Riester and was inspired by
the stunning fjords of Norway.

FARYUS
"Lucid Dreams" CD
(far15)
Faria Records
This album is devoted to a phenomenon of the "Lucid dreams".
A “lucid dream” - is a dream, in which the person is aware
that he or she is dreaming while the dream is in progress. During
lucid dreams you have control over the dream characters and environment,
as well as the ability to perform otherwise physically impossible
feats. The feelings which you feel during lucid dreams are very similar
to those available during a waking state. Often they surpass the 'usual'
with a saturation and intensity. This phenomenon has been researched
by such well-known researchers as Stephen LaBerge, Robert Monroe,
Carlos Castaneda, etc.. The 9th book of Carlos Castaneda - "The
Art of Dreaming" explains more fully the events occuring within
this album. The album is conceived as travel from the moment of falling
asleep up to the depths of the infinite universe of the Dreaming:
“Vivid Dream” - this is a dream, where colours and events
are extremely bright. After awakening we never forget these dreams,
it remains in the memory as a very exciting experience. It is the
first phase of lucid dreaming and the beginning of our travel. We
can then find "Clarity", passing through the first gate
of dreaming to enjoy the "Lucid Dream". Opening infinite
opportunities of the universe of dreaming we begin our "Free
Flying" obtaining the sanctum sanctorum of the dreaming universe
- to the "World of Inorganic Beings". Limited edition of
500 pieces

FILIUS
MACROCOSMI "Stalker" CD
(omscd02)
Oms Records
"Stalker is an elaborate puzzle. Its pieces are always scattered,
and Filivs Macrocosmi relies on his listener to bring the final element
of the puzzle along with him. One of Stalker's many treats is that
it invites you to get carried away into your own thoughts, flowing
with the images as it provides new questions to ponder... In that
sense, the album is very much like a philosophical poem: a very simple
surface covering innumerable layers of meaning. One extremely long
ride in a cart, with clunking metal and water-whooshing sounds, is
fascinating and hypnotic. FM downplayed the science fiction aspects
of the movie, making the album more about philosophical and spiritual
concerns leaving us at the threshold of the Room where all our most
cherished desires come true. Welcome to your Self, an alien place
guarded by barbed wire..." CD comes in 3-panel foldoutsleeve.

(omscd01) Oms Records
"Corona Astralis" is a consequential follow-up to the 2000

development of the project, carefully combining early 1998-2001 death
ambient/industrial experiments with recent ever generating solid electroacoustics,
harsh electronica and dronesque synth multistructures, all to be ultimately
finallized as integral one of the world in a grain of sand...

LAW "Violent:Sedated" CD
(LOKI22) Loki Foundation
This is the first full lenght album of this German project. Violent::Sedated
circles from the periphery, blending tonally oblique elements into
a sonic cauldron that continually boils over with contextually bizarre
rhythms and sounds. First Laws subtle frequency pulsations, multi-layered
effects and percussions creating a psycho-electronic journey into
paranormal, intoxicating and gliding dimensions. A sonic mandate that
really brings out the hidden textures buried within.

LAW "Refusal As Attitude" CD
(LOKI31) Loki Foundation
With the third CD First Law presents once again an outstanding sound
journey into the Inner Cinema. Soundstructures of unusual beauty and
depth are enriched with psychedelic effects and precise rhythms to
unfold an atmosphere in that the spatial concept of the CD creates
its effect. Multi-layered fragments of speech are connected with sound
and the infinite analog modulations and reaches levels, which lie
expressed deeply embodied within the listeners. "Refusal As Attitude"
commences where the black-silver shivering of "Velochrome"
ended and convinces by his self-contained compact, which holds an
infinite variation of interpretations. "If you think this universe
is bad, you should have seen the others."

FIRST
LAW "Chaos Structure" CD
(LOKI43) Loki Foundation
The 5th full-time album of FIRST LAW surprises once again with a huge
amount of stylistic variety and proofs that he is the ultimate cosmonaut
of the inner spheres. "Chaos Structure" is a hallucinetic
maelstrom, every note and sound tells a different story and guide
the listener to a journey through unseen areas of modulation and alienated
reality where the time stands still. The hieroglyphic soundforms are
structuring an audible world of an acoustic language. All compositions
are cautious built to create a majestic flowing of a soundworld full
of structures and outstanding melodies layered with percussion tracks.
FIRST LAW's music implicates inner spheres to build a new vision of
a structured chaos with very intense and irresistible sounds. The
complete release melts into an organic symbiotically ensemble and
the world is shivering from beyond.

FJERNLYS
"Within The Mind Of Ghost" LP
(nummer01) Skogholt
Within the Mind of Ghost' is the second manifestation of Fjernlys
bringing warm, atmospheric and sensitive Ambientsongs with accented
percussion elements, vibraphone sounds and brilliant viola supplements
to set the electronic soundscapes into wonderfully concentrated and
organic pieces. After the massive earthing from the moon Fjernlys
leads you to points of light illuminated by gilded signs and the frozen
sun is shivering in the inner journeys to places where the mystic
dress of stars is surrounding the night. Clear homogenic sounds creeping
deep organic rhythms with lovely effects have been incorporated in
a poetic ambiance guided by brilliant vocals. This outstanding melancholic
and elegiac recordings follow the first album with even an more accoustic
input like the reverbating guitar sound and the stringed bowed instruments
too and give an handsel of the things to come.

FJERNLYS
"Ascending Triads & Luminous Arcs" 2xCD
(LOKI42) Loki Foundation
On their first album FJERNLYS emerges marvelous sounds and voices
organically in songs and arrange a pleasant and relaxed sound to pure
benefit with highest recognizing value. The songs layer cosmic and
synthetic sounds and go on tracing according to the principle harmony
in the music, their acoustic space seems very expansive, it is by
no means over-crowded. The voices creep crosswise into sounds and
effects to lunar spheres and solar places, exactly the correct nuance
at refinement not only to remain in the ear but also simply very charming.
Sometimes the central sequence takes surprising twists in some recordings
and the density of sounds became touchable. Behind this project hides
one of the INADE Masterminds, who recorded nine tracks supported from
several musicians, those clearly possesses more songcharacter than
the work which appeared from the Lightchannel so far. Fjernlys' attitude
to music remains unfettered by stylistic frames and the album targets
the style-encompassing essence of sounds. The five remixes and interpretations
of ANTLERS MULM, BAD SECTOR, FIRST LAW and LOVESPELL on the second
CD support the complex character of the whole release and expand the
border to a new style of Ambient Songs. Ace - Clear - Pure.

FLINT
GLASS / TELEPHERIC "Information Gigabyte" CD
(a.r.05.05) Angle.Rec
TELEPHERIQUE’s Klaus Jochim and FLINT
GLASS’ Gwenn Tremorin have joined forces for this collaborative
album, which is indeed a concept album about information overload,
the speed at which technological changes occur and the negative effects
of this information overload on our psychological state. Both artists
have sampled and gathered a great deal of sounds taken from computers
or conferences on the topic, in a totally digital way from the FLINT
GLASS perspective, and in an analogic/old-school fashion from the
TELEPHERIQUE perspective. The idea was to confront the technological
evolution with itself in the composition process, in a chronological
way, by imagining the evolution from 1980 or so, up until now. You
can then expect a pleasing and surprising ‘shock’ between
FLINT GLASS’ trademark distorted idm-ish beats, intertwined
with sinister and expansive atmospheres, and TELEPHERIQUE’s
dirty soundscapes and machinesque old-school and sometimes or often
lo-fi drifts for which they have been renowned since 1989. Let aural
information flood you!

FOUNDATION
HOPE "The Faded Reveries" CD
(cmi177) Cold Meat Industry
‘Tunes for the wounded’ can be considered a lament. It
is a defamatory accusation to the world and it’s suffering.
Foundation hope lodges complaints through gritty ambient-industrial
structures, broken sounds and despairing moods. Always without losing
touch with the beautiful and melodic. Always with that tiny bright
spark of hope, overshadowed by doubt and cynicism. This successor
to ‘The faded reveries’ is a little more harsh. Incorporated
are distorted guitar drones, tape-decks, broken strings and noisy
outbursts. Firmly rooted in reality, this is tears dropping slowly,
a herd crawling through mud and blood, and a call to a redeemer who
isn’t there.

FOUNDATION
HOPE "The Faded Reveries" CD
(cmi162) Cold Meat Industry
Foundation Hope was formed in 2003 by Joep Smaling. The main idea
was to make dark cinematical soundscapes with a strong focus on the
harshness and cruelty of everyday life. This instead of the more common
ambient focus on a fantastical or subterranean world. Foundation Hope
tries to reflect the sharp contrast between religious/illusory thought
and the crudeness of everyday reality and mankind musically. Ironically
presenting itself as a foundation, an institute that comforts seeking
souls in times of distress, it is instead an attempt to confront the
listener with moods of isolation, despair and sorrow. At the same
time it is a question on what the fundaments of our hope are, in times
when not only parts of the world are at war or otherwise suffering,
but also wealthy individuals in western secularised civilisation seek
relief in anti-depressants and are aware of the hollowness of consumerism
and hedonism, living in a world gone mad without the belief in a purpose
to it all. Foundation Hope is an aural arrow pointing to the spiritual
sores of this modern civilisation. ‘To perceive evil in where
it exists is in fact a form of optimism,’ to quote Rossellini.
This was the basic, albeit somewhat pretentious, idea behind the project.
Luckily, music speaks no language and can induce mood and feeling
directly. So listeners might as well abandon the whole idea behind
Foundation Hope and interpret the drones, strings, melancholic tunes,
confusing vocal-samples and cinematic moods as they wish. May the
aural presence of Foundation Hope bloom in their heads and cause whatever
it causes. Music is, after drugs, the strongest weapon when it comes
to mood-engineering. The musical influences of Foundation Hope are
many, from dark-ambient to abstract noise and post-rock. The aim was
and will be, trying to find an individual and somewhat original sound,
instead of the sound of common dark-ambient Lustmord epigones.
