BABYFLESH
"New Wave Of Cynicism" CD
(vend006) Vendlus
Typically when someone mentions Industrial Sweden
and Italy appear at the top of the list as artist homelands. Babyflesh
destroys this stereotype and brings Norway to the top of the list
all on his own. Fans of the genre will be really excited to hear something
original and fresh in a stale and conformed scene and newcomers interested
in a introduction will be delighted at how babyflesh blends melodic
and disharmonic sounds with marching paces to ambient passages.

BAD
SECTOR & ASTRO "Idio Blast" CD
(IVBCD10 ) Insofar Vapor Bulk
Initial material for this release was recorded
by Hiroshi Hasegawa (Astro) and then manipulated and re-organized
by Massimo Magrini (Bad Sector). The resulting sound of the album
reminds of something Aube-like: attenuated abstract electronic waves
with highly detailed structures, nothing like traditional Bad Sector
sound at all. The artwork of this release deserves a separate description:
it's a hard cardboard kit to be assembled, in which the CD with
booklet should be put. Besides the album itself, the CD contains
some extra-material from Astro in ogg format (player installer can
be found on CD as well), screensaver and several wallpapers for
your computer desktop. Limited to 500 copies.

BARDOSENETICCUBE
"Deadhead" CD
(skd10) Steinklang Records
DEADHEAD is simply brilliant electronic music,
mixed with Neoclassical elements and Russian samples and hymns. some
tracks appear with Martial drums and trumpets, others feel more like
the finnish cult-label Sähkö. DEADHEAD
is totally different to all other releases from this great Russian
experimental-ambient artist and is without doubt the most musical
work of Bardoseneticcube.

BARDOSENETICCUBE
"The Other Heaven" CD
(ATNR20) Athanor
Fascinating second opus from the russian (St
Petersburg) dark ambient masters. This time atmospheres are developed
in a less abstract way than the first CD on Athanor.
Bardoseneticcube use of percussions, bowls, bells and ritual chants
are mixed with strange ambiance to give it an exquisite and mysterious
martial and virile mystical touch. The progression of the album invites
us to be a part of the mystery, like we were witnessing the surrouding
and the heart of an ancient religious secret society order. A new
sound approach for BSC, not far away from some early ritual Coil or
Deutsch Nepal recordings
Limited edition 500 copies stunning 4 pages digipack with clear tray.

BOHREN
UND DER CLUB OF GORE "Gore Motel" CD
(epi008) Epistrophy
Debut album from 1994. Just like their other
two albums, it's instrumental soundtracky stuff: dark, stark, slow-moving,
and lovely. Music for a dark-night campfire out on the plains of Mordor.
Slow and beautiful, relying heavily on the ultra-heavy subsonics of
the bass and the eerie wavering tones of the organ. Instead of the
more appropriate late-night urban photography found on their two other
albums, Bohren puzzles us with their packaging of this (Bruce Lee
on the cover? A logo that incorporates an upsidedown cross and the
number of the beast?). Are they being serious? Well, the music certainly
sounds serious. Very atmospheric and evocative, indeed chilling.

BOHREN
UND DER CLUB OF GORE "Midnight Radio" 2CD
(epi018) Epistrophy
At last, we've managed to import some copies
of this fantastic 1995 album by this mysterious German instrumental
band! After Midnight Radio, Bohren released Sunset Mission (later
followed by Black Earth). Heavy, heavy bass notes, glacially deployed,
crushingly beautiful slow-motion guitar and dark, liquid pools of
piano, with a narcotized drummer who must be passing in and out of
consciousness to occasionally brush his snare and hi-hat. Slow and
low, and highly recommended!
